Bishopstrow Walk, Wiltshire
Bishopstrow is an attractive little settlement on the edge of Warminster with records going back around a thousand years and St Aldhelm’s church, parts of which are about 700 years old, with foundations of an earlier church below it dating back also to around a thousand years ago. Bishopstrow doesn't take long to look around but can be included in a pleasant walk of a little under 8 miles which takes in Sutton Veny, Tytherington, and Heytesbury. The walk/cycle offers a choice of three pubs, one of which is in Sutton Veny and two in Heytesbury. Alternatively start at Sutton Veny then Bishopstrow, Smallbrook Meadows, Warminster Park, Henfords Marsh, and back, you can pick the route out on an app, it's a walk of about 6 miles, the park and meadows can not be cycled through. A break can take in a cafe or pub in Warminster itself. There is a rough footpath from Mill Lane to St Aldhelm’s church.
