National Cycle Network 24
National Cycle Network 24 runs from Bath in Somerset through to near Southampton in Hampshire, but this page focusses on the section within Wiltshire from East Woodlands, on the Longleat Estate, past Longleat House, up the steep incline of Longcombe Drive, through the woods to Warminster, Sutton Veny, Tytherington, Boyton, Sherrington, Stockton, Wylye, and Hanging Langford, Wilton, and beyond that past Salisbury Cathedral. Most of the route is on relatively quiet roads as most of this section runs through the stunning Wylye Valley adjacent to, but not on, the busy A36, which is the preferred route for traffic between Warminster and Salisbury. In fact I'm not a cyclists but it's a route that I have taken often, usually in two or three slices, as I am a disabled rambler, using a long-range all terrain mobility scooter. From East Woodlands to Salisbury Cathedral, one-way, is a distance of about 28 miles.
