Crockerton, Wiltshire
including Crockerton, Crockerton Green, and Foxholes
Along and adjoining the A350 just south of the historical town of Warminster are the attractive communities of Crockerton, Crockerton Green, and Foxholes. The former church and chapels serving the hamlets of Crockerton and Crockerton Green are now private homes, as is the school at Crockerton Green, however the primary school at Crockerton thrives as do the tea rooms at Shearwater Lake, and the pub, the Bath Arms in Clay Street, Crockerton, will hopefully finish its expensive restoration and reopen in late 2021, or 2022. Shearwater Lake is as popular as ever offering opportunities to join the sailing club, bring fishing rods, horses, and bikes, or just feet, the woods surrounding the lake stretch to Heaven's Gate, which itself looks out over Longleat House and Safari Park. With the beauty of the area it's no wonder that it's seeing an influx of money as expensive new homes are fitted between existing ones.
