Teffont Magna and Teffont Evias, Wiltshire

Teffont, Wiltshire

The village of Teffont, about 5 miles south of the A303, sort of between Warminster and Salisbury, used to be two distinct villages Teffont Evias and Teffont Magna. Both names are still used but technically they are one, and they run into each other neatly along a stream known as "The Teff", it is along this stretch, and a hill beyond Evias, that I took my mobility scooter. All bar a short length of the walk is along a quiet lane. The 17th and 19th century manor house in Teffont Evias has been converted into apartments. Howard's House hotel in Teffont Evias has good reviews.
