Stonehenge, Wiltshire

Near Amesbury, Wiltshire, SP4 7DE
Stonehenge in a normal year (this is written in 2020, which is not a normal year!) is a cash machine for English Heritage, the stones don't exactly require much maintenance, and it's expensive to get in, but free if you are already a member of the National Trust, that's right, they own it, English Heritage manage it, no I don't know why. Neither of them, nor anyone else, knows why the stones are there, nor how they managed to heave them there from Wales, though two of these photos show a rolling contraption, but various people will adamantly give you reasons for them your guess may be as good as there's, maybe it's an old folly or the result of a bet! I went around with my all-terrain mobility scooter and had no difficulty with access. Disabled Access
