Longleat Safari Park, Wiltshire

Wheelchair friendly, can be borrowed as can scooter (book ahead).
Lions were introduced to Longleat by the 6th Marquess of Bath, and Longleat Safari Park opened up to the public, in 1966, to save the estate from being further broken up due to death duties and the massive expense of maintaining the it. Little by little different animals have been added and now Longleat's breeding programme of animals such as giraffe, zebra, and red panda, plays an important part in ensuring the survival of particular species.
